One of my favorite all time authors is Tommy Tenny. His books are easy to read to the lay person, yet include deep truths into Gods Word. Tommy Tenny is the A.W. Tozer of my generation and his passion for a deeper understanding of Jesus Christ is contagious. "Finding Favor with the King" is no exception.

"Finding Favor" is a companion book to "Hadassah, One Night with the King" and is a book describing the events of the life of Queen Esther. That book was told in more of a story like fashion and Tommy Tenny takes a bit of liberty in filling in some of the blanks. It is directed to the fiction market. However, "Finding Favor" takes the part of Queen Esthers life where she desperately needs to meet with her king, win over his heart and finds favor with him in order to save her people. There are so many parallels between Queen Esther and the believer in Christ. We too need to depseratly meet with our King. What will it take to win over His heart? Why should we pursue favor with our Lord and Savior? Queen Esthers enemy was the wicked Haman. Like Esther, we too have enemys, how do we overcome them?

Tommy Tenny dives into the historical background of this Biblical book and retrieves nuggets of truth that is brilliantly communicated to today's generation. The bottom line is, we will all meet our King one day. This book lays out the steps for us to prepare for that moment when we do enter His presence.
