Fair is the Rose

Title: Fair is the Rose
Author: Liz Curtis Higgs
Genre: Historical Fiction

Fair is the Rose takes place exactly where Thorn in my Heart leaves off. I'll just leave it at that as for the introduction of the book in case you have not yet read "Thorn".

Roses character becomes more developed in this second book. Lachlan sends her to Miss Carlyle School for Young Ladies and while she is there she becomes good friends with the adventurous Jane Grierson. The two girls become fast friends and as all girls do, trade secrets. As Rose bears her heart to Jane about Jamie, Jane comes up with a plan for Rose to get him back. Unfortunately, this plan costs both of them more than they were willing to pay.

Upon Roses return to Auchengray, an unexpected turn of events takes place and the sister’s love faces the ultimate test. Will Jamie again have to decide which sister to love? Will Leana be able to pay the ultimate sacrifice? Will Rose ever receive forgiveness?

Fair is the Rose is the second book in a three part series inspired by the real life love triangle of Jacob, Rachel, and Leah in the Biblical book of Genesis. The third and final book in the series, Whence Came a Prince, came out in April of this year and will be soon reviewed!
