Redemption

Title: Redemption
Author: Gary Smalley & Karen Kingsbury
Genre: Fiction

Their relationship seemed hopeless. Especially by today's standards. Kari and Tim have been married for several years when Kari finds out that her husband, who is a professor, is having an affair with a student. Tim begs his wife for a divorce and Kari runs to the safe haven of her parents home to sort things out.

While she is seeking out answers, an old flame from her past, Ryan, shows up on her door. Ryan offers Kari security while her life spins out of control, but he can't help himself from falling in love again with the girl turned woman who has always held his heart. While all this is going on, Kari finds out she is pregnant with Tim's child.

Kari decides to go against what would seem the obvious choice, and still chooses Tim over Ryan. Understanding that there is a hard road ahead, Tim & Kari push through the darkness that has destroyed their relationship and make strides to rebuild. Until one more tragedy comes their way that they can't overcome.

Gary Smalley is known for being a relationship expert and Karen Kingsbury has great talent in the arena of fiction writing. The two make a great team. I enjoyed this book, however, introducing the pregnancy into the plot was a bit too much. I'm not totally convinced that a pregnant woman may have gone about things they way she did. It seemed like it was just thrown in there. In any case, I plan on reading the next book as there were still a few loose ends and I'm curious how this part of the story ends.

The next book in the series is entitled: Remember.
